This Kansas City neighborhood could soon be getting its own small grocery store

Just weeks after news that Sun Fresh would be leaving a Northland neighborhood, plans for a new grocery store nearby, in a new location, are moving through City Hall.

The Kansas City Plan Commission approved a rezoning request for a lot in the Chaumiere neighborhood on Wednesday, allowing the applicants to utilize an existing building to open a small grocery store and a “potential future restaurant,” according to the request.

City staff wrote that the proposal “would provide new amenities to the surrounding neighborhood.”…
