Lawsuit filed against Kansas City after man run over by city-owned vehicle at bus stop

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A lawsuit was filed against the city of Kansas City this month after a man was run over by a city-owned vehicle while waiting for the bus.

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 22, 2025, John Hooper was standing near the KCATA bus stop at Grand Boulevard and 5th Street.

A city employee driving a 2021 Ford F-350 was parked in front of the bus stop. When he began to drive away, the lawsuit says the city employee hit and drove over Hooper’s body…
