Owl at Deanna Rose Farmstead reveals true identity after 14 years

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An interesting twist was discovered this week at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead in Overland Park, Kansas.

After 14 years of thinking their owl Zeus was a male, “Zeus” surprised the farmstead with an egg this week.

“Since most owls are sexually monomorphic, except for a small difference in size, you usually only find out the truth through a DNA test or, well, a surprise delivery,” the farmstead said in a social media post. “We’ve had Zeus since 2012, and she managed to keep her secret for over a decade!”…
