‘Not a one-time mistake’: Blue Springs man charged for destroying street art during sideshow

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Blue Springs 19-year-old faces felony charges after destroying a Waldo mural and leading law enforcement on a 120-mph chase.

Court records showed that a Jackson County grand jury indicted Zachary C. Talley Jr., 19, of Blue Springs, on 3 counts stemming from separate incidents on Nov. 1, 2025.

The charges include:

  • Property damage in the first degree (Class E felony) – for destroying the street mural at 75th and Wornall
  • Stunt driving (Class B misdemeanor) – for performing burnouts and donuts on the artwork
  • Aggravated fleeing a stop or detention (Class D felony) – for a high-speed chase that reached 120 mph
