Olathe teacher recovering from stabbing as suspect’s attorneys question mental competency

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – A middle school music teacher is recovering at home after being stabbed at Two Trails Park in Olathe last Thursday, while the suspect’s defense attorneys are seeking to pause all court proceedings pending a mental competency evaluation.

Jamie Trumpp, 38, brought her children to the park for a spring break afternoon when 27-year-old Kwan Trezvant attacked her with a knife, according to police.
