Crews knock down two house fires in Shawnee neighborhood

SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) – Firefighters from four departments put out two house fires late Monday night in Shawnee after a blaze spread from one home to a neighboring house.

The Shawnee Fire Department said crews were called about 11:45 p.m. on March 30 to the 5100 block of Garnett Street – that’s right around 51st and Quivira Road.

Firefighters arrived to find two homes engulfed in flames and began an offensive attack, the department said. Crews extinguished both fires, and no injuries were reported.
