Man killed in south Kansas City shooting; police urge witnesses to come forward

Police are investigating a fatal overnight shooting after officers found a man unresponsive on a sidewalk in a south Kansas City neighborhood, a police spokesperson said.

Officers responded around 1:45 a.m. to the area of East 107th Street and Marsh Avenue in the Ruskin Hills neighborhood to assist Kansas City firefighters where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds, said Officer Alayna Gonzalez with the Kansas City Police Department.

Officers attempted to provide life-saving measures until an emergency medical crew arrived and declared the man dead, Gonzalez said. The man’s death is being investigated as a homicide…
