KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri House of Representatives has proposed cutting funding to the Truman Sports Complex. It comes just three months after the Kansas City Chiefs announced that they were leaving for Kansas after the 2030 season.
Republican House Speaker Jonathan Patterson from Lee’s Summit believes he can help get the money restored. He added that the state needs to meet its obligations to fund the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority, the landlord of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
“I think it’s not a good look for us to not be meeting our obligations,” Patterson said Friday.
