KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Most kids go to school and play outside every day, but that hasn’t been the case for 7-year-old Waylon Skaggs.
That’s because he has been battling nephronophthisis, a rare kidney disorder that forces him to be on dialysis to survive. He has painful treatments and two-hour drives to the hospital multiple times per week.
Waylon’s mom, Danielle Bonnell, first sat down on KCTV5 in June of 2025 with a plea to the community to help her son.
