Caller thought man was coming ‘to kill her’ at Blue Springs school: court documents

A man accused of bringing a loaded gun into a Blue Springs elementary school Thursday is facing an unlawful use of a weapon charge in Jackson County court. The caller who reported the incident told police she believed the man was coming to the school to kill her.

Cory Adams, 38, faces one count of unlawful use of a weapon after he allegedly brought a loaded firearm into Sunny Pointe Elementary School in Blue Springs, according to a Jackson County complaint document.

Officers with the Independence Police Department were called to they school, at 3920 Northwest R.D. Mize Road, just after 8:50 a.m. Thursday after receiving a report that a man was in the school with a gun, according to a probable cause statement filed in support of Adams’ arrest…
