LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo – A Lee’s Summit woman is behind bars in Lafayette County after leading authorities on a chase over the weekend.
According to a probable cause statement, Lafayette County authorities assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Saturday in locating an SUV driven by 40-year-old Mandy Lynn Bear. Bear had allegedly provided false information to a state trooper in Cooper County and claiming she was an FBI agent.
The vehicle was spotted westbound on Highway O and was seen swerving in and out of traffic. She initially eluded authorities before being located on Highway 131. Bear crashed the SUV into a ditch as she attempted to turn onto Hughes Road. She was able to keep the vehicle moving on Hughes Road before reaching a dead end.
