Northland shooting victim dies week after incident, leading KCPD to open homicide investigation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A shooting victim from an apparent aggravated assault on April 29 has died, prompting the Kansas City Missouri Police Department to open a homicide investigation.

On Thursday, KCPD said Robert R. Smith, a 34-year-old man, died from his injuries suffered in a shooting on April 29 in the area of NE 38th Street and N. Holmes Street.
