Interim Fort Bend County Judge Daniel Wong can’t be judge anymore, attorney says

RICHMOND, Texas (CW39) — The Fort Bend County Attorney says Daniel Wong is no longer the Interim County Judge, but he says that’s not the case.

County Attorney Bridgett Smith-Lawson said in a statement on Wednesday that Wong’s time as interim county judge is over, and commissioners can continue business without a county judge.

Wong, who is also the Republican nominee for county judge for November’s election, was appointed to the role when then-County Judge KP George was suspended over a civil case involving a woman who sued George after being escorted from a commissioner’s court meeting last year…
