The first case of West Nile virus in Montgomery County this year has been confirmed, the county health department said Friday.
The Montgomery County Public Health Department said it received confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services that a county resident tested positive for the virus. The state’s first confirmed case of the virus in 2026 was announced in late May and was in Harris County.
