Richmond Snags New Shake Shack Drive-Thru As Suburban Burger Battle Heats Up

Richmond is about to join the Shake Shack club. The New York burger chain is set to open on Wednesday, July 8 at 19130 W Bellfort St, bringing a shiny new drive-thru and patio to the Waterview/Aliana area and adding yet another Houston-area outpost. The setup will echo the brand’s Meyerland location that debuted in April, right down to the opening-day fanfare.

Early birds at the new spot will score custom-branded tumbler cups, and Shake Shack plans to donate $1 from every sandwich sold that day to a local nonprofit. The opening marks the chain’s second Greater Houston debut in roughly three months, keeping its local momentum rolling.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the Richmond restaurant will be Shake Shack’s 10th location in Greater Houston and roughly its 32nd in Texas. The paper noted that this move nudges the brand further into traditionally Whataburger-friendly territory and described the Richmond opening as closely mirroring the Meyerland launch earlier in the spring.

Site Work And Timeline

Project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show that interior tenant improvements for the Richmond Shack began in November 2025 and wrapped in March, covering a roughly 3,000-square-foot buildout.
