Kowbell Burger at Katy Asia Town closes after nearly 3 years

It really feels like there are only a handful of Korean-American or Korean-fusion restaurants in Houston at any given time. One reason for that is when one opens, another closes. Kowbell Burger in Katy is the latest such casualty.

Kowbell, located inside Katy’s bustling Asian Town development at 23119 Colonial Pkwy., will close after operation Monday, according to its social media page. The closure caps a roughly three-year run at Asian Town, a shopping center with an H Mart and a good chunk of Asian restaurants including Mala Sichuan and Phat Eatery.

The Korean-infused burger joint specialized in six-ounce signature tri-blend Angus beef patties and buns. Kowbell also had roasted kimchi, kimchi jam, soy-pickled jalapeños and a variety of original sauces to go with its burgers and fries…
