A new national ranking gives Texas cities another point of pride to claim: Which one is home to the state’s highest-ranked high school?
U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-27 Best High Schools rankings placed 11 Texas schools among the nation’s top 100, but only one cracked the top 10.
“In coordination with North Carolina-based RTI International, a global nonprofit social science research firm (RTI), U.S. News ranked nearly 18,000 public high schools out of more than 27,000 reviewed,” Eric Brooks, co-lead of U.S. News Education data team, wrote in the methodology. “Among other criteria, these public high schools had a 12th-grade enrollment of 15 students or greater.”…
