Macy’s is closing dozens of stores, including 5 in North Texas

DALLAS — Five Macy’s department stores in North Texas are closing, among dozens of others nationwide.

The closures are part of Macy’s “Bold New Chapter” strategy, which includes closing around 150 stores and re-investing in 350 “go-forward” locations, according to a company press release.

The closures announced this week included 66 stores across the U.S., including six in Texas. Five of those stores are in North Texas:

  • Fairview, 201 Stacy Road
  • Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, 6209 W. Park Blvd.
  • Southlake Town Square in Southlake, 321 State St.
  • West Bend in Fort Worth, 1751 River Run
  • Highlands of Flower Mound, 6101 Long Prairie Road

The other Texas store announced in the closures was at the Almeda Mall in Houston. It wasn’t yet clear when the six Texas stores would close…
