Fishing is a popular sport in Texas. With all the lakes, across the state, it’s easy to find a good spot to cast your line. One lake southwest of the Athens area has put itself back in the conversation of good lakes for bass fishing.
Richland-Chambers Reservoir is one of the biggest reservoirs in Texas. It covers parts of Navarro and Freestone counties. Recently, a young fisherman out of Dallas was enjoying his time on the lake and hooked a big bass. Big enough to earn the title of Toyota ShareLunker.
Texas Lake is Now Home to the Newest ShareLunker Bass
Dylan Sorrells of Dallas, a young but experienced fisherman, was enjoying some time on the Richland-Chambers Reservoir on Sunday, January 26. He was looking for some brush piles in a particular area of the lake and saw a fish on his finder. He cast his line and brought in the record fish.
His 13.64-pound bass became the fifth-ever Legacy Class bass caught on the reservoir. Dylan was able to contact the folks at the Toyota ShareLunker program and they were able to get to the lake within a couple of hours. The catch was confirmed and recorded.
