On November 7, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a credit card abuse call in the 19200 block of Dawntreader Drive in Cypress. The complainant reported receiving a phone call that appeared to be from Wells Fargo Bank, warning her of an attempt to withdraw money from her account.
The caller instructed the complainant to cut her bank card in half without damaging the chip and assured her that a bank representative would visit her home to retrieve the card, in order to prevent further fraudulent transactions. Later that day, video surveillance captured two suspects arriving at the residence to collect the card.
After taking the card, the suspects withdrew $4,400 from the complainant’s account at multiple ATM locations in the Cypress area. The suspects are described as black males; one was wearing a plaid shirt and khaki pants, while the other wore a shirt and brown pants…
