HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for several counties in southeast Texas until 8 p.m. Monday.
The counties in this watch include Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Montgomery, Waller, Washington and Wharton.
A thunderstorm with radar indicating hail is moving east that could bring heavy rainfall to the area on Monday afternoon and evening. Hail and some isolated tornadoes are possible with this storm.
With much of the area already dampened by Friday’s storms, there is a chance for some flash and urban flooding. A Flood Watch is also in effect for areas north and west of Houston from 7 a.m. Tuesday until late Tuesday night as another round of storms hits the area.
