Fort Bend ISD is considering a one-time property tax rate increase to help make up for a projected $34.6 million budget shortfall for the 2025-26 school year.
The proposed property tax rate increase would be paired with cuts to departments and campuses in the district southwest of Houston.
The district is expecting about $4.6 million in new revenue during the 2025-26 school year.
