In a recent report by Zumper, as noted by CultureMap Houston, Sugar Land has been pinpointed as the locale with the highest apartment rent prices for the month of June. Digging into the Zumper report, it becomes clear that Sugar Land’s one-bedroom apartments are setting renters back $1,450, while two-bedrooms have hit $1,870, experiencing a 3.3 percent hike year-over-year. Although the one-bedroom rents in Sugar Land dropped slightly compared to last year, they still top the charts in the Houston metro.
But it’s not just Sugar Land that has seen fluctuating prices. Galveston recorded to greatly increase one-bedroom prices, climbing 2.7 percent from the previous year to $1,140, as mentioned by CultureMap Houston. On the opposite side, Houston proper’s figures tell a different story, with one-bedroom units remaining flat at $1,280 and two-bedroom units decreasing by a significant 7.4 percent to $1,500. When it comes to affordability, the Zumper report also shed some light on the more wallet-friendly cities. Huntsville took the lead for affordable pricing with one-bedroom apartments averaging $850. Trailing behind are Pasadena and Texas City with one-bedrooms going for $900 and $910, respectively.
