Showers then back to our scheduled heat

Tropical showers have begun to develop across the Crossroads this afternoon and will continue to pop up through the evening. A few more showers are possible tomorrow, but that familiar summer heat is making a return.

What we are tracking:

Showers and thunderstorms will continue off and on through the weekend but will begin to taper off as we head into Sunday. This activity is associated with an area of low pressure off the Texas coast, which currently has a low 10% chance of tropical development by tonight. Fortunately, significant development is unlikely due to poor organization, but rainfall totals could still be locally heavy.

The Weather Prediction Center has placed the Crossroads under a Marginal Risk (1 out of 4) for excessive rainfall through Saturday—especially along the coastline, where localized amounts of 1 to 3 inches or more may occur…
