Houston-based CenterPoint Energy has recently implemented $53 billion in long-term investments for the next 10 years. This decision is due to the rapidly-expanding growth of Houston’s work force.
CenterPoint’s Massive Hiring Announcement
Included in these efforts are job fairs led by CenterPoint, regional development networks, and the creation of a new skill-based workforce development program to build the next generation of electric workers.
By the end of 2025, CenterPoint plans on hiring 200 additional lineworkers. This number rises to nearly 800 by 2030.
In order to meet the needs of the company’s 2.8 million customers, CenterPoint expects the growing energy demand in the Houston area to increase by nearly 50% by 2031.
