In a rare reversal, Texas officials voided a company’s controversial proposal to crush concrete near housing developments in Fort Bend County.
Nearby residents, school board leaders and county officials protested the concrete plant for over a year. They worried that the facility proposed by developer John Beeson under the name Julpit, Inc. would pollute neighboring subdivisions — a set of new master-planned communities that included two of Houston’s top-selling spots last year: Caldwell Ranch and Sienna Point.
