WALLER MAN CHARGED AFTER COPPER METAL STOLEN FROM BURTON ISD

A Waller man has been arrested in connection to a burglary and theft last month at Burton ISD’s construction site.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced this (Tuesday) morning that 27-year-old Austin Dwayne Adair was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. Monday by the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, who says he was arrested after a disturbance call.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Adair was one of two suspects identified in video footage that showed electrical and plumbing equipment being removed from the Burton ISD campus in the overnight hours on August 14th. Approximately $5,200 in copper metal was stolen.

Adair has been transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of Burglary of a Building and Theft of Material – Aluminum/Bronze/Copper/Brass. He was magistrated by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Douglas Zwiener and remains in custody on bonds of $60,000…
