For the first time ever, Fort Bend County Animal Services (FBCAS) is hitting the road with a brand-new Mobile Pet Adoption Unit—a custom-built, climate-controlled vehicle designed to bring adoptable pets straight to the heart of the community. The new initiative will make its debut on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Waggin’ Tails Pet Ranch, located at 7631 Katy Fulshear Rd., Fulshear, TX 77441. The mobile unit will be onsite until 3:00 PM, with free snow cones provided by Kona Ice from 12:00 PM until the conclusion of the event.
The event marks a major step forward in Fort Bend County’s efforts to increase pet adoptions, alleviate shelter overcrowding, and extend access to animal care and services—particularly in underserved or remote areas.
“The unit is designed as a dynamic rolling extension of our brick-and-mortar shelter,” said Rene Vasquez, Director of Fort Bend County Animal Services. “By bringing the Mobile Pet Adoption Unit directly to schools, parks, and community events, we’re not just offering pets a greater chance at a new home—we’re delivering joy, hope and lifelong companionship right to the heart of our community.”…
