$235M mega project could turn quiet Houston suburb into a tourism hotspot

A massive new hotel and convention center is set to reshape one of the fastest-growing corners of Greater Houston, signaling a bold investment in tourism, entertainment, and regional infrastructure.

The ambitious plan centers on Rosenberg in Fort Bend County, where local officials unveiled designs for the Fort Bend County EpiCenter Hotel and Convention Center—a sweeping expansion of the $120 million Fort Bend EpiCenter venue that opened just last year. With a projected cost of $235 million, the development is expected to supercharge the city’s appeal as a destination for major events and new businesses.

The proposed buildout includes:

  • A 254-room, full-service hotel
  • A 70,000-square-foot convention center connected to the hotel
  • Two large parking garages with a total of 2,614 spaces
  • A third phase featuring retail space

The project would roll out in phases, starting with one of the parking structures. Houston-based architecture firm PBK shared updated renderings and a concept video with the Rosenberg City Council during a workshop on September 23.
