City of Sugar Land investigating privacy breach of internal network infrastructure

SUGAR LAND, Texas (CW39) — The City of Sugar Land is investigating a cybersecurity incident that has impacted some of its online services, including bill payments, that has area residents concerned.

According to city officials, critical infrastructure systems remain operational, and emergency services such as Police, Fire, and EMS are not impacted.

The Sugar Land Police Department is working with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to investigate the breach, which impacted the city’s internal network infrastructure.

Residents can still reach city services:

  • Emergencies: Call 911 for Police, Fire, or EMS.
  • Non-emergencies: Call 281-275-2020.
  • Other city services: Contact Live Chat or email via the city’s website.
