Mosquitos carrying West Nile Virus discovered in Sugar Land, officials say

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KIAH) — Some mosquitos have tested positive for the West Nile Virus in Sugar Land, city officials said on Monday.

The mosquito was found in a mosquito trap near Greatwood Parkway and Wood Dale last week. The city was notified over the weekend that at least one mosquito tested positive for the virus, officials said.

Sugar Land will now increase its mosquito treatment in the surrounding areas and urges residents to take precautionary steps to avoid mosquito bites and exposure to the West Nile Virus…
