Three arrested for illegal dumping in Waller County, deputies

WALLER COUNTY, Texas (CW39) — Three people have been arrested after deputies said they were caught illegally dumping furniture and household items in a Katy-area subdivision.

According to the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Stone spotted a white U-Haul truck and a blue sedan around 8:05 p.m. on October 17 near Beckendorff Road and Bartlett Road in the Sunterra subdivision. The vehicles were parked near a newly constructed, blocked-off roadway.

Deputies said three individuals were seen unloading old furniture and other household items from the U-Haul truck into the middle of the road. All three were detained and later arrested for Illegal Dumping – Commercial Purpose, a felony under Texas Health and Safety Code §365.012.

During questioning, one suspect admitted the group had been paid to remove and dispose of unwanted furniture for profit. The items included chairs, bed frames, dressers, a box spring, and other household items.

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office said the unlawful disposal of waste is a serious crime that poses both environmental and safety hazards. Anyone caught dumping illegally will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law…
