On October 23, 2025, No Label Brewing Co. in Katy hosted the third annual Murkies, an event marking the end of The Month of Murkey. The event focuses on Murkey Myers, a Double Dry-Hopped Hazy DIPA created through collaboration among Texas brewers.
The Month of Murkey has received national attention, winning Platinum Craft Beer Marketing Awards for Best Craft Beer Collaboration in 2023 and 2024. This year, brewers, fans, and industry professionals attended to recognize breweries and designs from the statewide project. The Chris Boise Band performed live music during the event.
A judging panel, including Jacob Asbill and Master Cicerone Robert Frye, selected the winners. Senate Avenue Brewing Co. from Jersey Village won first place for Mayor Murkey. New Magnolia Brewing Co. (Houston) placed second with Murkey Matrix, and Vallenson’s Brewing Co. (Pearland) took third for Immortal Murkey.
