What’s the perfect meal to eat while watching a movie in a theater?
I know, for some of you, the question itself is an affront. You prefer your cinematic experience pure and spartan, without having to hear anything from your neighbors like the crunch of candy, the rattle of plastic, the slurp of the soft drink or the dreaded vigorous shake of the popcorn bag. (Just eat the damn popcorn already. It’s not a martini.)
But for those who can’t struggle their way through a Chris Pratt movie without sustenance, I maintain that the hamburger provides the right blend of convenience, relative silence and even something resembling nutrition (you’ve got all the major food groups in one handheld meal). Sure, most dine-in movie theaters offer even healthier, lighter options but they come with drawbacks: they may be specific to certain theaters; require clanking knives and forks, or require a second mortgage. (I’m lookin’ at you Reel Luxury Cinemas in The Woodlands with your $42 lobster rolls with truffle taro chips and $28 boneless half chicken with wilted greens.)…
