Fort Bend County Judge KP George’s legal team files motions for dismissal of DA Brian Middleton, criminal charges

Attorneys representing Fort Bend County Judge KP George have filed a motion seeking to disqualify District Attorney Brian Middleton from prosecuting George’s criminal case.

The motion was filed on Oct. 31. If the prosecution is not disqualified from the case, George’s team is asking for the dismissal of his criminal case.

The criminal cases George is facing stem from two indictments:

  • A 2024 indictment accusing him of online impersonation. George is accused of using a fake social media alias to posts racist comments directed at himself and others during his 2022 Fort Bend County judge reelection campaign — an accusation the judge has denied and called politically motivated.
  • A 2025 indictment surrounding felony money-laundering charges tied to a 2019 campaign-finance report.
