Houston under ‘red flag warning’ for heightened fire risk until Monday evening

The Houston area will be under a heightened risk of fire until Monday evening due to dry and windy conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS issued a red flag warning for Houston until 6 p.m. Monday due to “critical fire weather conditions” that are either current or imminent. The warning comes before temperatures plummet to the low 40s Monday morning with wind chills dipping into the mid-30s.
