Houston-area Tesla facility projected to bring at least 1,500 jobs

BROOKSHIRE, Texas – A planned Tesla manufacturing facility in Brookshire is projected to bring at least 1,500 jobs to the Houston area, according to a report by the Houston Business Journal, and Tesla’s own careers site which shows the company is recruiting manufacturing roles for the Brookshire location.

The Business Journal reported last week that the project — described by local officials and economic development sources as a large-scale manufacturing campus — is expected to create a minimum of 1,500 positions once operations ramp up. Tesla’s public careers search for manufacturing positions in Brookshire, Texas, lists openings and an application portal for candidates seeking roles at the site.

Brookshire, in Waller County about 30 miles west of downtown Houston, has been the focus of regional efforts to attract large industrial projects that can boost employment and local tax revenues.
