‘We are devastated’ | Beloved Katy BBQ restaurant is closing, but they vow to ‘go out with a bang’

KATY, Texas — The “Cheers of BBQ” in Katy is the latest Houston-area restaurant to announce its closing. The owners of Brett’s BBQ Shop announced the “incredibly difficult decision” after seven years of serving brisket, sausage, ribs and all the fixins’.

“After months of discussions, number-crunching, sleepless nights, and every possible attempt to keep the doors open, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Brett’s BBQ Shop,” their emotional Facebook post said. “Built on a whole lot of heart, soul, and the integrity of Central Texas BBQ … we have lived every chapter with grit and pride, and we are devastated.”
