Sugar Land Dive Center, a PADI 5 Star IDC, is starting an Instructor Development Course (IDC) Referral Program for PADI Dive Centers that want a trusted place for their Instructor Candidates to finish Instructor training. The program offers a referral fee and training led by PADI Course Director Phillip Hetherington. It works with Scheduled IDCs, IDC on Demand (timed to an Instructor Examination), and Split IDCs in Houston (Texas) and Cozumel (Mexico). The program also welcomes instructors from other recognized scuba training agencies who want to cross over to become PADI Instructors (OWSI)
“Shops send us their future instructors, and we take that seriously,” said Phillip Hetherington, PADI Course Director. “We train in small groups (maximum of 6), run real-life training sessions with clear feedback, and teach the day-to-day skills instructors need on the job.”
