FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (CW39) — Fort Bend ISD is expanding language-learning opportunities for students with the launch of two new programs: a Two-Way Dual Language Spanish-English Program and a Mandarin Immersion Program.
District leaders said Monday on social media that the programs are designed to promote academic excellence while helping students become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural — skills that are increasingly important in today’s global economy.
To help families learn more, Fort Bend ISD will host a series of virtual and in-person parent information sessions in January. Presentations will be available in both English and Spanish.
During the sessions, families will receive an overview of:
- The Two-Way Dual Language Spanish-English Program
- The Mandarin Immersion Program
