HOUSTON, TX – An overnight incident involving a commercial truck striking multiple vehicles ended with a suspect in custody following a multi-agency pursuit, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies received reports of a driver in a commercial truck crashing into several vehicles. With assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Houston Police Department, deputies located the truck and attempted to stop it. A pursuit followed, during which the suspect allegedly tried to ram law enforcement vehicles and may have fired shots.
Out of caution, SWAT teams were deployed as the situation escalated. The pursuit came to an end on the Eastex Freeway near Little York Road after spike strips successfully deflated all of the truck’s tires. The driver stopped the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident…
