Medical license temporarily suspended for Sugar Land plastic surgeon accused of performing surgery while intoxicated

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – The Texas Medical Board has temporarily suspended a Sugar Land plastic surgeon’s medical license after allegedly performing surgery while intoxicated.

Dr. Azul Shirazali Jaffer, 50, was charged with performing surgery while intoxicated, a felony offense. He reportedly performed the surgery on Aug. 12 while intoxicated.

Sugar Land police arrested Jaffer on Dec. 22, 2025, following his indictment. He was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail…
