Parts of Southeast Texas saw light ice and sleet accumulation following the winter weather that pushed into the state over the weekend, though much of the Houston area avoided any significant buildup, according to the National Weather Service.
College Station recorded the highest total, picking up a quarter of an inch of freezing rain and sleet, Meteorologist Chita Craft said during KHOU 11 Morning News on Monday. Katy reported about one-tenth of an inch, an area where drivers reported slipping and sliding conditions. That includes the big rig we showed you that was stuck on the Katy Freeway connector ramp to the Grand Parkway.
