Sugar Land launches office development incentive program

The City of Sugar Land recently launched the Office Readiness Program, a new economic development initiative designed to modernize the city’s office inventory, increase occupancy, and position Sugar Land for long-term, balanced growth, according to a news release.

The Office Readiness Program provides financial incentives to property owners and office tenants who invest in upgrading professional office buildings within eligible office corridors. The program encourages office-type users currently operating in industrial or flex spaces to relocate into true professional office environments, while preserving limited industrial land for advanced manufacturing, logistics, and life sciences employers.

“This program is about preparing Sugar Land for what is next,” Mayor Carol K. McCutcheon said in the release. “By strengthening our office market, we are supporting quality job growth, attracting high-caliber employers, and ensuring our community remains competitive in the region.
