CFISD swimmers, divers qualify for state championships

Bridgeland High School junior Jackson Hartzler won two individual Region V-6A titles at the Region V-6A Championships, held Feb. 6-7 at the CFISD Natatorium. Hartzler won the 200-yard individual medley (1:47.08) and the 100-yard breaststroke (54.79). Hartzler was also named the Region V-6A Boys’ Swimmer of the Meet and was also a member of the Bridgeland 200-yard freestyle relay, which also claimed the Region V-6A title. Hartzler will compete in all three races, in addition to the 200-yard medley relay, at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships, to be held Feb. 20-21 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.

Feb. 20, 2026—Twenty CFISD athletes qualified for the UIL Swimming and Diving Championships following the Region V-6A Championships, held Feb. 6-7 at the CFISD Natatorium. CFISD athletes claimed three regional titles overall.

The first- and second-place finishers in each region and next eight swimmers with the best regional finish times in the state advance to the UIL Swimming and Diving Championships, to be held Feb. 20-21 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin. In diving, the top three finishers in each of the eight regions advance to state.

The Bridgeland High School boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay, consisting of, from left junior Aidan Huffman, senior Minh Tran, junior Jackson Hartzler and junior Alex Fenza, won the Region V-6A title (1:24.66) and will compete at the 2026 UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships, to be held Feb. 20-21 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
