North Katy to Get Restaurants, Shops and Outdoor Plaza at The Green at Katy Park

KATY, Texas (Covering Katy News) — A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for April at The Green at Katy Park, a new 46-acre shopping and dining destination coming to the northwest corner of Morton Road and Katy Hockley Cutoff Road. It will be across the street from the H-E-B shopping center and Katy Park.

The development will feature more than 60,000 square feet of shops and restaurants, plus 13 additional freestanding building sites. At its heart will be a roughly 10,000-square-foot open-air plaza surrounded by five buildings with large patio restaurants and some second-floor retail. The plaza will include a children’s play area and host outdoor concerts and movie nights, according to managing partner Cort King.

The retail center will also connect to a nearby 3-mile trail system that winds around a 50-acre detention pond park adjacent to the property…
