ICE arrests suspect in hit-and-run death of Texas sheriff’s deputy

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced on Mar. 18 that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Dennis Arguello-Acosta, described as a criminal illegal alien, for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run crash that killed Fort Bend County Deputy Kenneth Lewis on February 21.

The arrest follows an anonymous tip received by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and other law enforcement agencies on March 11 regarding Arguello-Acosta’s whereabouts. The case has drawn attention to concerns about public safety and immigration enforcement.

According to the announcement, ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations worked with the FBI to identify Arguello-Acosta and locate his residence. ICE has taken him into custody to prevent his release back into American communities, and he may now face state charges related to the incident…
