Katy, Texas – The Texas Southern Women’s Golf team posted a 36-hole day one total of 618 (305 – 313), and are in 4th place at the end of day one of the National Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship, hosted by the Women’s in Golf Foundation on Tuesday.
Graduate student, Alexa Gonzalez leads the way for the Tigers in 6th place individually on six-over-par 148 (74-74). Gonzalez’s steady day included a total of four birdies, 22 pars, and 10 bogeys or more and sits at three shots off the lead at this time.
Freshman Carmen Pate sits two strokes back on 150 (74 – 76), while junior Shawnise Gregory posted a a155 (78 – 77). Senior Azul Amzcua (77 – 81) and freshman, Zufan Girard (76 – 82) are tied on 158 while junior Thaiz Amezcua sits two strokes back on 160 (79 – 81)…
