April rain is up in Houston, but spring could still swing wildly either way

Houston has picked up more rain than usual this April — but with La Niña over, what happens next is far less certain.

So far this month, Houston has recorded about 5.2 inches of rain — nearly 2 inches above normal. Still, spring rainfall is notoriously inconsistent, especially without the influence of La Niña.
