A warming, largely dry pattern with temperatures rising to even 100 degrees in some places is settling across much of Texas this week. This follows a weekend of volatile rainy weather after a cold front pushed through the Lone Star State.

In the Houston area, the risk for severe weather will linger through Monday morning, with the highest threat centered across the Piney Woods and Brazos Valley region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Houston-Galveston Office.
